Price benchmarking

Understand where your practice sits in the range of veterinary pricing locally.

We benchmark prices for a range of services in your area against up to four competitors, reported back within two weeks. Small animal practices include consult fees, vaccines and neutering. Equine service typically includes visit fee, dentals, health plan and others.

What is price benchmarking?

Price benchmarking is an independent measurement of veterinary pricing in your local area, covering a range of common services and procedures across small animal or equine practice.

Whilst it’s important to know how your practice compares against others your clients could choose, we never recommend competing solely on price. Pet and horse owners look for overall value when choosing and using a practice. Veterinary price benchmarking opens up the conversation about the total package of care you provide, so you can talk about the health check and the opportunity to ask questions that are included in the price of ‘just’ a booster vaccination.

How does it work?

Onswitch callers ring your chosen competitors and collect a range of price data:

  • Small animal. Health check, kitten and puppy vaccines, cat and dog booster prices, health plan, neutering (large dog)
  • Equine. Visit fee, flu and tetanus vaccines, health plan, dental and dental sedation, five-stage vetting

What do I get?

Within two weeks of commissioning a veterinary pricing benchmark, you’ll receive a detailed report identifying the range of prices charged by your competitors. You can use this to develop client communications that demonstrate the excellent value for money that your team provide.
